Ko tō tūranga – your role
We're looking for a candidate with a strong technical understanding of electricity distribution networks, underpinned by deep expertise in asset health assessment and forecasting. You will bring the capability to lead and enhance the reliability-focused culture across the organisation, translating technical insight into clear, outcome-driven strategies.
In this newly created Senior Asset Performance Engineer role in our Asset Strategy and Performance team, you will lead asset reliability, performance, and long‑term network resilience, including responding to climate‑driven risks. You will monitor network asset performance and translate insights into asset strategies aligned to service levels and business objectives.
You will play a key role in promoting network reliability across the business, evolving asset planning toward proactive, data‑driven asset health modelling based on condition and risk, supported by modern digital tools and technology. Additionally, you will lead and develop our Network Reliability Engineer.
Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?
- Electrical engineer with 5+ years’ with distribution network experience.
- NZ tertiary level qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- High level working knowledge of applicable legislation and industry guidelines.
- NZ professional engineering registration or demonstration of good progress towards such registration.
- Understanding of the principles of risk management and investment decision making, and their applications in the context of investment planning.
- Understand the principles of zero harm and sustaining a high-performance culture.
- A strong drive for continuous improvement, actively seeking opportunities to enhance and refine current state.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly using spreadsheets and functions to analyse data.
- A numerate and analytical mindset; organised and methodical, making decisions based on facts and analysis.
- An ability to communicate and influence internally and externally, both verbally and in writing.
- The capability to work in a rapidly changing and evolving industry.
