Are you naturally curious, love connecting with people, and enjoy turning great conversations into meaningful change? We’re looking for an Energy Insights Advisor to help us better understand the people behind the power.

Working closely with our Head of Customer and Energy Experience, you’ll build relationships with community groups, iwi, social agencies, and local stakeholders while uncovering valuable insights that help us support customers, particularly those experiencing energy hardship.

In this role, no two days will be the same. One day you might be gathering feedback from customers and frontline teams, the next analysing trends, collaborating with community partners, or helping shape customer-focused initiatives. You’ll use stories, data and lived in experiences to influence decisions, improve services, and ensure Counties Energy continues to deliver an experience that’s inclusive, empathetic, and responsive to the needs of the communities we proudly serve.

Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?

  • A minimum of 5 years of customer experience, community engagement, stakeholder engagement, programme delivery or related field, preferably within the energy, utilities, local government or infrastructure sectors.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Sustainability, Business or equivalent, practical experience. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including community organisations, iwi, local government, customers and industry partners.
  • Strong customer insight and analytical skills, with the ability to gather, interpret and translate qualitive and quantitative information into practical recommendations and improved customer experience.
  • An understanding of the Counties Energy network area and the communities we serve would be advantageous.
  • Strong facilitation and engagement skills, with experience leading workshops, consultation or collaborative initiatives.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions based on prior experience.
  • Ability to work in rapidly changing environment juggling multiple tasks.
  • A calm, professional temperament with ability to cope in pressured environments.
  • Ability to drive and deliver outstanding results for the Customer.
  • Ability to ensure the business is consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours for events, storms, grid emergencies and other crisis management situations.
