Ko tō tūranga – your role

Join Counties Energy as a Senior Project Engineer, supporting the development and delivery of critical/complex, commercially driven electricity infrastructure projects. 

In this role, you will report to the Project Engineering and Design Manager and be accountable for both technical and commercial objectives, ensuring proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially optimised, and aligned with Counties Energy's engineering standards.

Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in the electricity industry, including at least 3 years in project engineering, project management or project leadership of projects greater than $5m.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electricity infrastructure design, connection assessment, construction support, commissioning, and project delivery. 
  • Commercially savvy, with the ability to manage customer, consultant, contractor and supplier interactions in a professional and effective manner. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate commercial, technical, consultant and internal stakeholder inputs. 
  • Ability to provide practical, high-level technical options, scope assumptions, indicative budget inputs and clear technical recommendations in a commercial context. 
  • Consistently delivers results in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage technical inputs, and produce quality outcomes in a timely manner. 
  • A good knowledge of applicable legislation and industry guidelines.
  • Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering, preferably with experience in distribution networks, power systems or complex electricity infrastructure projects. 
  • CPEng or PMP accreditation is advantageous but not essential.
