Ko tō tūranga – your role

Join Counties Energy's Network Operations Centre (NOC), the operational control authority for our electricity network. As a network controller, you'll oversee the safe real-time operation of our distribution and sub-transmission network using our Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). You'll manage network events, coordinate switching activities, control network access, issue permits, review outage requests, and maintain accurate operational records, helping deliver safe and reliable electricity to our communities. 

We're ideally seeking an experienced New Zealand Network Controller with the NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply (Network Control) Level 4 qualification. However, we also enocurage applications from candidates with significant overseas Network Control experience within an electricity distribution business, or at least five years' experience as a Line Mechanic or Electrician within the electricity distribution industry. 

This is a high-trust, safety-critical role requiring sound judgement, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. If you're passionate about safety, network operations, and making a meaningful contribution to infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you. 

Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?

• Minimum three years experience as an Electricity Distribution Network Controller. 
• Proven experience using an ADMS, or alternative SCADA System, preferably GE PowerOn.
• Strong understanding of electricity distribution and sub-transmission network operations, systems and outage management. 
• Ability to interpret network conditions and make sound operational decisions under pressure. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear operational instructions to field personnel. 
• Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to problem soloving and decision making.
• Close attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
• Strong digitalliteracy across operational systems and communcation platforms.
