Te tūranga | The role:

Bring your fresh ideas and join the Network Planning team as a Network Analyst, where you will be responsible for analysing network data and supporting data-driven, defensive decision-making for Counties Energy and Customers.

Responsible for interrogating network data to analyse network trends and generate customer insights working with planning engineers to understand and model future network constraints, and supporting the preparation of key business documents.

Ōu pūkenga | What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in data science, engineering science, computer science or statistics.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data centric roles.
  • Strong experience in Excel, Power Query, SQL and PowerBI is essential.
  • Experience with Jupyter and data science libraries / frameworks like NumPy, SciPy, and Keras
  • Experience in the energy sector an advantage, but not a necessity.
  • Experience or understanding of GIS systems an advantage, but not a necessity.
  • Curious and inquisitive; seeks different and conflicting perspectives to shape strong, data-backed conclusions.
  • Teachable attitude, willingness to learn and motivation for new challenges;
  • Resilient and tenacious; successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions and looks for opportunities to improve the current state;
  • Numerate and analytical; highly organised and methodical, makes decisions based on facts and analysis;
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to learn on their own.
  • Proactive approach to learning new technologies, systems, and tools.
  • Calm, professional temperament with ability to cope in pressured environments, maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and staff during challenging times;
  • Able to work autonomously and being self-driven to produce good quality outcomes in a timely manner;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
