Ko tō tūranga – your role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Reliability and Lifecycle Engineering team as a CAD Draughtsperson on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You’ll be available to start early December or early January at the latest to ensure a successful handover and training period before our employee heads off on maternity leave.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for drafting and updating network standards, including revisions to existing electrical distribution drawing standards. You’ll also support the creation of electrical reticulation drawing standards and assist the Electrical Draughtsperson as needed.
This is a great chance to contribute to key infrastructure projects, work alongside a supportive team, and further develop your technical drafting skills.
Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?
- At least one or two years drafting experience within NZ electricity or utilities industry,
- Technical draughting design and electrical systems experience required,
- Proficient computer skills, including AutoCAD, Windows, Word and Excel,
- Proficient with two-dimensional AutoCAD design and draughting,
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
- Strong verbal and written communication skills,
- Teamwork and problem-solving skills,
- Able pick things up with ease and work with limited supervision,
- An understanding of power distribution systems will be an added advantage,
- Experience in Meridian Software is an advantage but not essential.
