Ko tō tūranga – your role
We’re seeking a highly motivated DSO Technology Engineer to support our Head of DSO Strategy, in the development, management, and execution of Counties Energy’s DSO (Distribution System Operator) strategy. As our DSO Technology Engineer you will work with technology providers and value stream leads across the business to deliver the DSO Strategy.
Counties Energy acknowledges that transitioning from a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to a Distribution System Operator (DSO) is essential for us to drive performance and resilience on our network, as well as to generate new shared value that unlocks the complete energy potential for our communities.
The creation of a more efficient and flexible system will benefit all customers and empower them to be at the centre of the energy revolution. Our enhanced DSO capabilities will empower customers with the freedom to access a wider array of energy choices, enabling them to actively participate in the transition to a low-carbon future.
Counties Energy is paving the way to enable decarbonisation for our customers, and in this position, you will play a large part in our journey.
Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the electricity industry
- Relevant NZ Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (expert English)
- Flexibility to work varying hours dependent on project delivery requirements
- Excellent relationship builder with clear ability to communicate well at all levels of a business
- Ability to communicate and influence internally and externally at all organisational levels
- Able to work in rapidly changing environment.
- Commercially astute with proven problem-solving capabilities
- A collaborative working style, with the ability to foster a high-performance team environment and build excellent working relationships with stakeholders.
- A calm, professional temperament with ability to cope in pressured environments
