Are you an enthusiastic and driven Asset Engineer looking to make a real impact? Our Asset Lifecycle team needs to meet the demands of our rapidly growing network, and we’re looking for someone with energy, passion, and a proactive mindset to help shape the future. With a pipeline of exciting and rewarding projects, now is the perfect time to join us and transform our network.
As an Asset Engineer, you’ll take the lead in developing and executing asset management strategies that support the growth and reliability of our network. You’ll ensure our approach aligns with current industry standards while driving innovation and efficiency across the Asset Lifecycle Team.
Your responsibilities will span the full Asset Management spectrum, from shaping long-term fleet strategies and forecasting investment needs to planning maintenance and renewal programs. You’ll also be involved in setting technical standards, designing solutions, and overseeing the successful delivery of maintenance and works programmes.
Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?
- NZ Electrical Engineering tertiary qualification or equivalent, with 3+ years’ distribution network experience.
- A strong drive to make things better and looks for opportunities to improve the current state.
- Professional engineering registration or an intent for the future such registration.
- Knowledge of Project Management principles.
- Sound knowledge of applicable legislation and industry guidelines.
- Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
- Understand the principles of risk management and investment decision making, and their applications in the context of investment planning.
- Understand the principles of zero harm and sustaining a high-performance culture.
- Calm, professional temperament with ability to cope in pressured environments, maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and staff during challenging times.
- Resilient and tenacious; successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions and looks for opportunities to improve the current state.
- Numerate and analytical; highly organised and methodical, makes decisions based on facts and analysis.
- Able to work autonomously and being self-driven to produce good quality outcomes in a timely manner.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
