Are you early in your finance or accounting career and keen to build a strong foundation?
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our busy Finance Team. With strong communication and administration skills, you'll play an important role in supporting our core financial operations.
Reporting to the Financial Accountant and working alongside the Finance and Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for a range of day-to-day financial tasks, including accounts payable, payroll support (backup), month and year-end processing. You will ensure accurate data entry and assist with compiling information for reporting and review.
This role would suit someone working towards a relevant tertiary qualification, a recent graduate (with some practical experience), or someone currently in a junior to intermediate finance role who is looking to broaden their experience and continue developing their skills in a progressive energy company.
Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?
- 1-3 years experience in an accounting or finance support role or relevant tertiary qualification with practical
- Sound administrative capability, with good understanding of accounting principles and financial terminology
- Experience with accounts processing and reconciliations
- Experience with Datapay and Microsoft Business Central is advantageous
- Exposure to payroll processing is advantageous
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Well organised with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn and take initiative.
