Ko tō tūranga – your role

We’re seeking expressions of interest for a Network Planning Manager or Team Lead to take a leading role in the long-term planning and development of our electricity network.  Working closely with the Head of Network Development, you’ll apply sound engineering judgement and system level thinking to ensure the network is resilient, secure and capable of supporting future growth, DER and emerging technologies.

This role is responsible for developing robust network development plans, investment strategies and load forecasts, translating analysis into clear recommendations that support business planning and regulatory requirements.  You’ll be at the forefront of delivering major projects from optioneering and design through to procurement, construction support, commissioning and close out.

In this role you’ll coordinate internal engineering resources, delivery partners and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard.  You’ll drive continuous improvement through post‑project reviews, applying lessons learned to lift capability, reliability and value for money.

Ōu pūkenga - What will you bring?

  • 8+ years in project management, asset management and/or electricity design roles.
  • Demonstrable experience with fostering an inclusive, dynamic and performance driven team culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree level qualification—either from New Zealand or overseas.
  • Experience delivering regulatory documents such as Asset Management Plans.
  • An ability to communicate effectively and proactively and engage with all levels of employee, customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent written and oral skills and an ability to present confidently to both small and large groups at all levels of the organisation and externally.
  • Calm, professional temperament with ability to cope in pressured environments, maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues in challenging situations.
  • Resilient and tenacious; successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions and looks for opportunities to improve the current state.
  • Numerate and analytical; highly organised and methodical, makes decisions based on facts and analysis.

  • Remuneration for this position is $140,000 to $180,000 gross per annum and is dependent on current skills and experience you bring to the role,
  • This role is permanent full time working a minimum of 40 hours per week and maximum of 50 hours per week,

  • Increased company KiwiSaver Contribution to 4.5%,
  • A paid ‘Me Day’ for you, to use as you choose and,
  • An extra five days of sick leave.
